They completely quit playing for 15+ minutes in the third period. Mike Smith looked awful and its a shame they did not put more pucks on him. Hope they can rebound

Cole is a douchebag, that hit was dirty and I'm glad Bennet beat the poop out of him.

Bennett is a bust of. Player and didn’t beat the poop out of anyone. Flames fans are adorable trying to make him seem like useful hockey player.

Yeah right! You guys werent even close to being in that game & were in it because of gifts from our sub par goaltending. That hit was right in front of us & it was a careless semi blind sided hit that had the potential to really injure a guy. That's fine but if you cant see the value of what Bennett did & the impact it had on team mates going into the 3rd period, will......I guess your just a proficient internet trash talker & hockey knowledge limited.

He never said the Avs were close in that game? Im not sure why that's your first point? If you think that was a dirty hit, you should go watch another sport. It wasn't blindside he just received a suicide pass with his head down. Potential to injure is an irrelevant point because every hit could "potentially" hurt another player. Btw nobody cares you were at this game, "it was right in front of us" lmao
Onto Bennett... if you're drafted in the top 10 I highly doubt Calgary drafted him to be a fighter. To me, that's a bust. The impact it had on the game was that Cole was wrongfully penalized for a legal hit giving the Flames an advantage.
Do I think the avs should of won? God no, but come on man you're changing the game if that's all of the sudden a dirty hit.

Apparently the refs have it in for the Avs. Terrible again. That being said the D needs to get a lot better. I don't mean just the defense but the forwards need to be a lot better in the D end. Landeskog gave the game away behind his own net and McKinnon is lazy in his own end.

You wasted a top pick on a guy and the only thing you can cheer about it trying to fight a guy and unsuccessfully do it on a clean shoulder first no leaving the feet hit on a terrible suicude pass from hanafin

Yeah you have a real gem in Bennett, lottery pick bottom 6 grinder

Bennett is a bust so far indeed. Still though he is young & can turn it around. Smith i was never a fan of & is not the answer for the Flames. As for the Av’s they look like the Leafs & gotta stop fishing the puck outta the net as of late. It’s a long season but the D needs a lot of work.

At least we still beat you clowns & you have had way more top picks than us.
Hit was head high. It's a risky hit so match & a game was fair enough & not expecting anything else. Not sure why you call Bennett a wasted pick for sticking up for his team mate. Good on Bennett for taking exception to it. Maybe with the Ottawa pick you should go & get yourself some D from what I saw last night.

Being able to fight & being a fighter are two different things. Its not like Bennett goes around like Avery or Kassian looking for fights.

You guys are adorable, this Is like when you guys were all adamant that Monahan was the best pick in his draft year over MacKinnon.

Bennett is a waste of a pick, doesn't bring much to the table besides being "fake tough". He popped JT Compher in the head the first game the teams played and he hasn't been back since there. When he wants to "get involved and be useful" he tries to stir the pot and he isn't good enough to do that. He's trying to save his career by being some sort of agitator defensive forward, that's a fall from grace from Top 4 pick to bottom 6 energy guy

the fact he got away with his in OT is just a crime, especially since he injured a player.

Saw the Avs live in Vancouver on Friday and between the Calgary game and Vancouver game both Varly and Grubauer need to rebound from those performances in a big way. 6 and 7 goals when your team is producing some serious offense doesn't help. Grubauer constantly looked out of position and off angle on multiple goals. Hopefully they take the 4 days off and regroup and come back strong. Rough pair of games when your #1 and #2 get lit up for 13 goals total.

Props to Elias Pettersson on his big night. Kid looks like he'll be a star in the league for years to come. 5 points on the night for a 19 year old is a HUGE performance.
